If You're Walking To Lose Weight All Your Life - You Won't Have To Lose Weight
![]() Walking to lose weight is probably the best way in the world to lose it. Why? Because you're changing your lifestyle when you walk, Just like when you decide not to waste your time watching all those useless shows on television, your horizons will broaden. You miss so much when you ride in a car. You pass by everything. There it goes¡ You can lose weight fast and easy if you start to walk everywhere, instead of using your car. You think I'm saying something I haven't done? For the last 30 years I don't believe there has been one weekend where I haven't gone hiking and camping. If you saw my house, you'd know. There's no way you can have twelve javalina skulls unless you've been hiking as much as I have. I'm 57 and I look 40; except for some gray in my mustache, you'd never guess I were that old. Look at how I can write? My writing is crisp and sharp, my brain is as good as it ever was. So, lose weight fast diets? Yes, they should be called 'The Way You Eat". And you should forget the word diet completely. Lose it from your vocabulary. If you change your life into a more healthy lifestyle then health will be your life instead of some secondary thing you do in-between all the drudgery.
The best motivation to lose weight is get moving. Get up off that couch and get out the door. You shouldn't have to have me tell you that; you should go running, or swimming, or you should play racquetball, or buy a kayak and use it every weekend. I've bone trough many phases. I had a canoe until my van got stolen, then I got a kayak, and used that up Canyon Lake for about four years, then I got into hiking the Superstition Mountains, then I was hiking the land over by Florence. So, walking is my life. Walking is a way that you can lose weight for free; doesn't cost a dime. Ride your bicycle. You don't have to go 25,000 miles on it like I did. The 'official bike trips' were 8800 of those, but I continued only riding bicycles for a total of 12 years. In those 12 years I used to ride approximately 60 miles every weekend. I added up the total miles and I had ridden nearly a half-way round the planet. Get fit, get motivated; and walking to lose weight is how you can do that. Walk everywhere. You could bicycle to work. Buy BikeBins or pannier bags to carry your stuff in. You afraid someone might laugh at you? I don't ever remember anybody laughing. They sometimes scoffed, but sometimes we'd turn their scoffing around by showing just how much we lived. We lived fully and I still do live fully. Expand your life, make it bigger and you'll automatically be more healthy. One of the reasons I can write so many articles is because I have so many stories to tell. I have been places, and done things. When I write articles on health, I have healthy things to say because I've dared try lots of things. Some of them I learned by experience I shouldn't have done. Other thoughts I had were vindicated. Certainly walking to lose weight is a thing you could do, just as I do it. If you keep doing it from when you were 20 like I did, you'll still be fit and healthy when you're almost 60, like I am. |
